At the Huawei Connect 2025 themed “Elevating Industry Intelligence”, Sunline, Huawei, and Philippines City Savings Bank (“CitySavings”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a new milestone in their partnership and a strengthened commitment to accelerating CitySavings’ digital transformation journey.
Through this MOU, the three parties will leverage their complementary strengths: Huawei will provide its world-leading cloud infrastructure and ICT capabilities, Sunline will bring its extensive expertise in core banking systems and digital financial solutions, while CitySavings will contribute its strong market presence and leadership in inclusive finance. Together, they aim to build a next-generation digital banking service system that is secure, efficient, and innovation-driven.
This agreement extends the achievements of earlier collaborations and sets a benchmark for cross-border fintech cooperation at Huawei Connect 2025. By combining resources and expertise, the three parties seek to establish a forward-looking model of digital transformation for the financial industry in the Philippines.
“Our collaboration with Huawei and CitySavings will unleash strong synergies,” said Ruby Zhou, Deputy President of Sunline Holding. “Through shared resources and complementary strengths, we believe CitySavings will achieve new breakthroughs on its digital transformation journey, injecting fresh momentum into inclusive finance development.”
Global Recognition at Huawei Connect 2025
During the event, Sunline was honored with Huawei’s top annual award for solution partners — Global Excellent Industry Solution Partner — recognizing Sunline’s joint innovation with Huawei and its leadership in global fintech practices. This marks the third time Sunline has received this prestigious recognition.
As a pioneer in exporting China’s fintech capabilities, Sunline has partnered closely with Huawei across products, markets, and technology for many years. Together, they have introduced proven financial technology solutions to markets in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. At Huawei Connect 2025, Sunline showcased global best practices including its SunCBS distributed core banking solution, DataMind intelligent data platform, enterprise-level general ledger, and AI-driven banking core applications — all tailored to diverse regulatory, market, and customer requirements worldwide.
Joint Innovation with Huawei Kunpeng Ecosystem
Another highlight was Sunline’s deep collaboration with Huawei’s Kunpeng ecosystem. The two companies jointly launched the world’s first banking core system running on Kunpeng servers, setting an industry precedent. Sunline has since embraced Kunpeng across multiple product lines — from its APStack technology platform and enterprise general ledger to data asset management systems — all of which have been certified under Kunpeng’s development framework, delivering enhanced efficiency, performance, and security.
At the Kunpeng Computing Industry Summit, Sunline joined Huawei in unveiling the “APStack Technology Platform + Core Banking System Solution”, reinforcing their commitment to advancing digital and intelligent transformation in the global financial sector.
Looking Ahead
Sunline and Huawei will continue to deepen their strategic collaboration, bringing China’s technological innovation and best practices to the world stage. Together with CitySavings, they aim to empower financial institutions globally with digital intelligence, shaping the future of smart and inclusive finance.
